It’s not a secret that OpenAI is already working on ChatGPT Pro, a paid version of their popular chatbot. We already told you about it a few days ago and, unlike what is usual in this sector, in this case the information does not come from a leak, a rumor or an analyst’s theory. No, we know that the company is working on it because a few days ago it opened a public waiting list for those who may be interested in this professional version of the service.
There are two particularly interesting points in this list, published through the Google forms tool. The first is, of course, that they indicate what the differences will be between the normal accounts, that is, the free ones, and those of ChatGPT Pro which, as we already told you at the time, we can summarize by talking about a greater availability of the service, which in Sometimes, due to server overload, it is not available to users of normal accounts, faster response times and being able to carry out a greater number of queries in short periods of time.
The other interesting aspect of this document is that it consists of a list of questions, and nothing less than four of them have to do with price that ChatGPT Pro will have once it is available. They are the following:
- At what price ($ per month) would you consider ChatGPT so expensive that you would not consider buying it?
- At what price ($ per month) would you consider ChatGPT priced so low that you would think the quality couldn’t be very good?
- At what price ($ per month) would you consider ChatGPT starting to get more expensive, so it’s not out of the question, but would you have to think about buying it?
- At what price ($ per month) would you consider ChatGPT to be a bargain, a great buy for the money?
And as soon as these four questions are finished, the user is asked if they want to be contacted when the payment method is available.
The main question that everyone is asking is, therefore, how much will ChatGPT Pro cost? What will your monthly fee be? And as it has begun to circulate on the Internet, it seems that OpenAI is already offering the first accounts of this type to users who signed up for the list, and that the price for which it is offered is $42 per month.
Beyond the choice of precisely 42, which more than one will have quickly identified as the meaning of life (if this has not been your case, I highly recommend reading The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, you are missing a gem), the Initial reactions to that price do not seem too positive, although it is true that to a large extent they correspond to individuals, not to professionals and companies that, due to what the service can offer them, can indeed consider it a competitive price.
Yes indeed, we should not give this price as final. As we have already seen, OpenAI has many doubts about it, so it is collecting as much feedback as possible. Perhaps the $42 per month reported by some users is just a first test.
