The company continues with its investment plan and technological commitment to position itself as Iberian express parcel leader. One of the legs of its strategy goes through the opening and mechanization of own centers of distribution in each of the Spanish provinces which, added to the Portuguese facilities, make up a genuinely Iberian network.
Thanks to these investments in facilities, mechanizations and technology, CTT Express is capable of managing 100 million shipments per year, at the level of Spain and Portugal.
In this sense, the company consolidates a volume of activity throughout the northern area, which includes Cantabria, the Basque Country, Navarra, La Rioja, Burgos and Soria, of more than 400,000 shipments per month after the increase in activity of more than 45% in recent months in this territory. Only in the Basque Country, 170,000, 30% more than last year around the same dates. Precisely to increase its operational capacity and respond to this growth, it inaugurates a new express parcel facility in Bilbao.
This new platform, located in the Achucarro polygon, It consists of more than 5,000 square meters and they are already working on the implementation of a mechanization capable of classifying more than 4,000 packages at the time that helps to offer the highest quality of service in deliveries, now located above 98%. Thus, the company once again demonstrates its commitment to responding to all customers, both large e-commerce and small companies, who require more capacity, more effectiveness and more quality of service in deliveries, especially at the tips of demand as the current campaign of Christmas.
“The significant increase in the volume of shipments in the area requires new facilities that allow us to adapt operations to gain capacity, flexibility and quality of service. This new distribution center joins the more than 50 that we already have throughout the entire territory and that allow us to consolidate our position as a benchmark in the sector at the Iberian level”, Explains Álvaro Herrera, Director of Operations for CTT Express.
The new facility consolidates the company’s presence in one of the key territories in our country, which will allow it to cover the peaks in demand and, above all, the high figures registered in online sales, which have skyrocketed its shipments since the beginning of the year.
