The ECS Liva Z3 is presented as a new mini PC with a compact size and a discreet design, an approach that we had already seen in other similar models from different companies, and is committed to a configuration based on the new processors Intel Jasper Lake low consumption, whose TDP is just 6 watts.
In its basic configuration, the ECS Liva Z3 has a very compact and limited size, but alongside this there is another differentiated one such as «ECS Liva Z3E», which is thicker, which translates into more internal space, and also has two COM connectors. At the specification level, both versions start from a common base, although the larger model has the advantage of having space for a 2.5-inch storage unit, either an HDD or an SSD.
We can configure the ECS Liva Z3 with a processor Intel Celeron N4500, Celeron N5100, or a Pentium Silver N6000. We have ordered them from lowest to highest power, which means that the latter would be the most powerful chip of the three. The first has two cores and two threads, while the other two have four cores and four threads.
The ECS Liva Z3 supports, in its two versions, a maximum of 16GB of 2,933MHz DDR4 memory, It comes preconfigured with up to 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage capacity, and they feature an M.2 2280 PCIE NVMe slot for installing a high-performance SSD. The “E” model also has space for a 2.5-inch storage unit, as we have already said.
Otherwise, both models have:
- 1 x HDMI 2.0.
- 1 x mini DisplayPort.
- 1 x Gigabit Ethernet.
- 1 x 3.5mm jack.
- 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C.
- 3 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A.
- 2 x USB 2.0 Type-A.
- M.2 2230 for wireless card.
The ECS Liva Z3 and ECS Liva Z3E support two 4K displays, are compatible with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0, and offer a performance improvement of up to 35% compared to the previous generation, thanks to the use of the new Intel Jasper Lake processors, manufactured in the 10nm process. We do not have details on the sale price, at the moment.
