Fullmetal Alchemist: Square Enix announces the new game

As anticipated yesterday talking about the new manga by the author of Fullmetal Alchemist, comes the news related to the celebrations for the twentieth anniversary of the franchise based on the famous shōnen of Hiromi Arakawa.

Square Enix, in fact, has just announced the release of a new Fullmetal Alchemist game, an announcement followed by a presentation teaser trailer.

The new game from Fullmetal Alchemist is only for smartphones and tablets

Below you can see the skimpy promotional video of the title which, unfortunately, is a game for mobile platforms, which certainly will not appeal to fans of the more traditional saga who, let’s face it, deserve a new video game starring the brothers. Edward is Alphonse.

At the moment no further details are known about this new game by Fullmetal Alchemist, not even the title. The only thing we are given to know, in addition to the platform on which the game will run, is that the release date should arrive by the end of 2021.

What is the FMA talking about?

The story of the original manga takes place in the fictional continent of Amestris, a world very similar to the Europe of the early 1900s in which alchemy, a practice halfway between science and magic, widely used for various purposes given its ability to transmute. the state of matter. Edward and Alphonse Elric, two young brothers, decide to dare beyond all limits and experiment with human transmutation in an attempt to bring their mother back to life.

The experiment turns into tragedy: the woman does not come back to life and the two brothers pay heavy consequences: Edward loses his left leg, Alphonse the entire body, with the latter kept alive thanks to Edward’s ability to bind the brother’s soul to an empty armor.

Despite the mutilations and the almost total loss of their human part, the two brothers then decide to travel in search of the Philosopher’s Stone, a legendary artifact capable of increasing the effects of alchemical practices and, probably, capable of restoring their original bodies.

Meanwhile, Edward will join a government military association in Amestris, called the State Alchemists, with the nickname of Steel Alchemist.
