Assassin’s Creed Infinity: Ubisoft announces the game after a leak

When Bloomberg revealed the existence of the next chapter in the Assassin’s Creed series less than 24 hours ago, Assassin’s Creed Infinity, fans wondered how reliable the report was Jason Schreier, considering that it speaks of a live-service game (the first for the franchise).

Well, we didn’t have to wait long to find out the truth, with Ubisoft which, after the article, he decided to announce the existence of the project to the world.

Ubisoft has announced Assassin’s Creed Infinity. the first game in the saga with live-service elements

“Rather than continuing to pass the baton from game to game, we deeply believe this is an opportunity for one of Ubisoft’s most beloved franchises to evolve in a more integrated and collaborative way.”, Ubisoft said in a post posted on its blog.

Known by the codename of Assassin’s Creed Infinity (so the title may well change in the future), the new project will be a collaborative effort between Ubisoft’s Montreal and Quebec studios.

Despite Ubisoft’s announcement, however, no details on the game have been confirmed by the company, with the project appearing to be only in its early stages of development.

According to what reported by Bloomberg, who spoke with Ubisoft employees (provided they could remain anonymous), the new Assassin’s Creed will include several games and environments, interconnected and able to develop and expand over time.

Ubisoft did not confirm these details, simply stating that the pandemic and work from home prompted them to embrace a “More unified approach to the development of the franchise’s games”, which were previously divided between the various firms of the company.

While no official release date has yet been announced, nor the platforms on which Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be made available, we’re pretty sure we won’t see it before 2023, exclusively on next-gen consoles and PC.
