GeForce Now starts the year with a bang

2023 promises to be a big year for GeForce Now, NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service. This will be the year of the full rollout of the RTX 40 series, both for desktop and laptop systems, so the hardware is going to make many interesting headlines, but the company’s cloud platform does not want to be left behind either, as We could already glimpse it in the presentation that it carried out during CES 2023, and everything indicates that it will achieve it.

The big announcement is undoubtedly the new Ultimate level of GeForce Now. Previously known as GeForce Now RTX 3080, it must now leave that name behind, since the servers of this service, known as Superpods, have updated their components to integrate graphics adapters of the latest generation with the Ada Lovelace architecture. Thus, subscribers at this level will be able to play in similar conditions as if they had, on their own PC, with a brand new GeForce RTX 4080. As for general computing functions, the Superpods are equipped with AMD Threadripper processors and, Thanks to its very high-speed connectivity and very low latency, the experience will be similar to playing locally, as we already told you when we tested GeForce Now RTX 3080.

The generation jump of the top-of-the-range account of GeForce Now means that its users will be able to enjoy not only all the power provided by an RTX 4080, but also the functions of this new generation, which we already talked about when its launch took place, and among which stands out the new version of its artificial intelligence-based image rescaling technology, DLSS 3. NVIDIA’s relationship with artificial intelligence goes back a long way and, from time to time, they surprise us with very interesting about it.

In terms of raw performance, this superpods hardware update makes it possible for service users to enjoy their games with 4K resolution at 120 frames per secondof course with graphics features like ray tracing enabled from the native PC and Mac apps. And highly anticipated by a growing community of users, the service already offers ultra-wide resolutions, such as 3,840 x 1,600for those who have screens with this form factor.

The GeForce Now Ultimate plan can be contracted for a monthly fee of 19.99 euros or, if you prefer, you can pay a semi-annual fee of 99.99 euros, which will allow you to enjoy the service for six months at the price of five. GeForce Now RTX 3080 subscribers will have to do absolutely nothing, NVIDIA will automatically update your accounts so they can start enjoying new hardware from day one.

New Games on GeForce Now: January

Now, even the best of components is useless if we don’t have what to use it with. As you already know, GeForce Now offers you to play in the cloud the games that you have acquired in the main digital game stores (Steam, Epic Games Store, etc.), so that you always maintain ownership over them, and you can choose between play them in the cloud or locally.

Thus, a fundamental factor in the success of the service has to do directly with NVIDIA’s policy of constantly adding new games. As we have been showing you for a long time, GFN Thursday is celebrated every Thursday, GeForce Now Thursday, which is the day of the week in which the company adds new titles to the list of compatible games.

Also, if you have looked closely at the list, you will have noticed that a good part of the games scheduled for this month are part of the THQ Nordic catalog. The Valiant, MX vs ATV Legends, Way of the Hunter and the great and hilarious Destroy All Humans! and Destroy All Humans! 2 represents a huge quantum leap in terms of the presence of TQH titles in GeForce Now.
