Google Pixel Fold and Google Pixel 7a: prices and release dates leaked

The Google Pixel Fold is undoubtedly one of Google’s biggest upcoming releases. It is a smartphone with a flexible screen that, almost certainly, will adopt the same base concept we’ve seen in Samsung’s Galaxy Fold series. This means that it will have two screens, an internal one that will be the one that will mount the flexible panel and an external one that will allow more traditional use of the smartphone.

For its part, the Google Pixel 7a will be the successor to the Google Pixel 6a, and will be addressed as that to the premium midrange, both for price and specifications. In terms of design, we do not expect differences from the Google Pixel 7, and what you can see in the cover image is a filtered press render that shows us what the final design of said terminal will be like, at least in theory. Its main value, compared to its direct rivals, will be in its photographic capabilities.

According to the leak collected by GSMArena, both terminals will be presented at the Google I/O to be held on May 10 of this year. However, this does not mean that both will be released simultaneously, in fact the opposite will happen. The Google Pixel 7a is expected to be available at the time of its announcement with a price of $499, a figure that in Spain could become 499 euros or 549 euros, depending on how Google decides to adjust the price.

If that price is confirmed, the Google Pixel 7a it would be 50 dollars more expensive than the Google Pixel 6a, a difference that is not very big, but when we move in this type of range it can end up affecting the price-performance value of the terminal. In any case, it looks like the current model will still be on sale for a while when its successor arrives, so we’ll have more to choose from based on our budget.

This smartphone will use Google’s Tensor G2 SoC, it will use a slightly smaller screen than the standard model, although it will maintain the 120 Hz refresh rate and it will have a 64 MP main camera and a 13 MP secondary camera working as great angular. As I said at the beginning of the article, computational photography It will be one of your most important values.

As for the Google Pixel Fold, it is expected to hit the market on June 27, and its price will be $1,799, an amount that could be directly converted into €1,799 if our currency maintains its strength against the dollar. Regarding its specifications, we expect it to be a high-end terminal, and that it is configured with a SoC Google Tensor G2 manufactured in 5 nm, 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM and that it uses a set of cameras similar to those of the Google Pixel 7.
