Google recommends this resale website and it will be expensive

Today we can find many websites that allow us to buy tickets online to see all kinds of events and shows. Gone are the days when you had to wait in line for hours to hopefully catch one of the last tickets for that event that we wanted to see so much. However, in addition to the many reliable websites that we can find, there are also pages, inexplicably highly positioned in Google, that can deceive us, making us pay more, due to the resale.

The resale of tickets is something that is frowned upon. Speculators take advantage of the lack of tickets to buy a large number of tickets and take advantage to sell them, in other markets, at a much higher price. Sometimes even more than double. Physical resale is quite controlled. And many stores, like Wallapop, tend to limit them too. However, there are web pages that are dedicated exclusively to ticket resale, and not only does no one remedy it, but even Google rewards them with good positioning. And one of these pages is Viagogo.

Viagogo: Unknowingly Resell Shopping

When you search Google, or other search engines, for a term as common as “buy tickets”, this website immediately appears. Either because it is well positioned, or because it pays for AdSense to appear in the top positions of Google as an ad, millions of users land on it when looking for an online entry. Apparently it is a reliable page, where we can find tickets for all kinds of events.

Whatever event we are going to, this page will tell us that there are only one or two tickets left, and we should hurry up because there are more people waiting to buy them. But is it really so?

There are artists who have already highlighted this page indicating that They are not authorized sellers. The last to do so was the comedian Berto Romero, who recommends not buying tickets for his show on this portal.

Now, is there really cheating? Let’s see it. We are going to look for a ticket for the Berto Romero show for April 30. We look for the Viagogo entrance, and we notice that there are many notices that there is less than 1% of the available capacity left, and that there are only a couple of tickets at the back of the stands.

The price of each ticket is 59 euros, a fairly high price, but good. Now we are going to see the official ticket seller, which we have reached through taquilla.com. On this official page we see that tickets are less than half. And not only that, but (paying a little more, obviously) we have much better and closer positions, like in the boxes.

And on any other website where we search, the official ticket sales price is the same on all of them. Except on Viagogo, where they clearly take advantage of scalping. Always use reliable ticket purchase websites.
