Interesting startups for investors: Lingokids is in its fourth round of financing

Lingokids is a Spanish company specialized in the English learningwhich has already exceeded 60 million users Worldwide. Its flagship product is an online education platform with digital games for children between two and eight years.

During 2022 the company managed to add 20 million new families who installed the application, representing a business growth of 50% over the previous year.

In Spain there are already 1.1 million user families, of which 330,000 have joined in 2022. Its priority market is the United States and Mexico, where last year they obtained 3.4 million new users, reaching the figure of 11 million families who have chosen the Lingokids app to help their children learn academic and social-emotional skills in English.

The company was founded by Christopher Viedmacurrent CEO, in 2015. A year later, the app was launched and in 2017 they had a million followers around the world. Currently, it has its headquarters in the center of Madrid, specifically on Calle Princesa.

Four rounds of financing

Lingokids has managed to close four rounds of funding. The last one, from Series C, took place in June 2021 when he managed to raise a total of €33 million.

The operation meant the entry of new international investors such as GP Bullhound. In addition, previous investors such as HV Capital or the German gaming company Ravensburger, which injected 7.5 million euros in October 2020, when it closed its Series B, renewed their confidence in the company.

In total, Lingokids has raised 65 million dollars from investors such as the aforementioned Ravensburger and funds such as Holtzbrinck Ventures, JME Venture Capital, Sabadell Ventures, BigSur, Reach Capital, and business angels such as Gwynne Shotwell, president and COO of SpaceX. Last year, the company Viva Technology included Lingokids in its annual list of the next 100 unicorns and has an agreement reached with Amazon to be one of the skills available on Echo devices through the Amazon Kids service on Alexa.
