PrestaShop appoints Eric Sénéchal as the company’s new CEO

Eric Senechal, who joined PrestaShop and was named CTO in 2020, played a key role in growing the company 40% in 2021, now taking over as managing Director. His international experience, his deep knowledge of the PrestaShop ecosystem, his business background and his solid track record as head of technical teams made him the natural choice to lead the development of the company in the coming months and years, according to the official statement.

Sénéchal takes over from Alexandre Eruimy, who has managed to consolidate PrestaShop as the leading commerce platform in Europe and Latin America during his four years at the helm of the company. Eric will focus his efforts on driving existing and new business opportunities, such as the launch of PrestaShop Edition, his new offering for merchants who need a ready-to-use e-commerce solution that includes all essential services, hosting and support included, the strategic alliances signed with PayPal, Google and the launch of PrestaShop Essentials. Eric will also lead a team of over 300 talent, working closely with MBE to unlock the full potential of group synergies and ensure a fully integrated and seamless customer experience to enable merchants to realize their significant growth potential.

With a total base of one million business customers around the world, MBE and PrestaShop will leverage their complementary service offerings to support their ambition to become the go-to platform for business growth around the world.

The appointment of Sénéchal ensures the continuity of the company’s strategy and confirms MBE’s confidence in the PrestaShop management team.
