The GeForce RTX 4070 shouldn’t hit shelves until tomorrow, but some sites have posted their reviews of Nvidia’s truly affordable graphics card based on the Ada Lovelace architecture.
The Founders Edition models of an Nvidia graphics card come closest to the specifications stated by Nvidia. Based on this, each manufacturer will add more or less video memory and/or change GPU settings. The RTX 4070 Founders Edition is to be classified in the mid/high-end segment of the RTX 40XX series released this year. It is aimed at customers looking for performance to play in 1440p definition.
For a fraction of the price of the overpowered RTX 4090 and 4080, it will still offer the benefits of DLSS 3.0 technology and the Ada Lovelace architecture, and its 5 nm engraving in a smaller size. It will be noticeably smaller and lighter than the other products in the range, 24.3 cm in length and 1030 grams on the scale. From this point of view too, it will therefore be more affordable, since, unlike more efficient models, it can be inserted into less bulky boxes.
Less bulky and less capable than the RTX 4080 and 4090, the RTX 4070 is much more affordable
Technically, the RTX 4070 Founders Edition integrates an AD104 chip, which totals 5888 CUDA cores, compared to 7680 for the RTX 4070 Ti. The calculation unit will be able to reach 29 Shader TFLOPS and 466 Tensor-FLOPS. This version also includes 12 GB of video memory and is assigned 32 MB L2 cache memorya notable leap from the 5MB offered on the RTX 3080, the card the RTX 4070 is most often compared to today.
The RTX 4070 Founders Edition is not at risk of catching fire like the power guzzlers RTX 4090 and 4080. It is less resource intensive and should only consume 200W on average. On the Old Continent, the MSRP for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Founders Edition is €659. It should be noted that once again, the European customers of the green team will lose on the exchange, since in the country of Uncle Sam, the same product will cost $599 (about 550 of our euros).
