- Make sure you are using the original Switch charger. The reference number is HAC-002since there are fake chargers that cause a lot of problems.
- Unplug the charger from the socket and also unplug it from the Switch dock for at least 30 seconds.
- Detach the Joy-Cons from your Nintendo Switch and press once on the small Synchronize (SYNC) button that is hidden on the side of the controllers. This will cause the controls to be reset.
- Reconnect the controllers to the console.
- Plug the charger you unplugged earlier into the wall and plug it directly into your Nintendo Switch.
- Tap on the screen to open the main menu.
- Go to the Controllers option in the menu that you will see in the form of a small icon.
Your controls should appear connected and showing the active charging icon.
A simple solution
As you can see, it is enough to carry out four simple steps to completely reset the connection and the charging of the controls so that everything returns to normal. As we said, everything seems to point to a residual power problem that could prevent the Joy-Cons from receiving power from the Switch, hence resetting all power connections serves to reset the charging cycle of the entire system.
