Project Zero: rest assured, the live action film is still alive and well

It has now been more than two years since we last heard of the live action film taken from the franchise of Project Zero (or Fatal Frame, if you prefer). The announcement of the film was perhaps somewhat overshadowed by another major announcement, that of the arrival of a new film based on silent Hill, and always made by the director Christophe Gans (Silent Hill, Brotherhood of the Wolf).

The Project Zero live action film is not dead and the work continues

Now, in an interview posted on 4Gamer’s website, the creator of the Fatal Frame series, Keisuke Kikuchi, confirmed that the Project Zero film project is still in development overseas.

In reality, the announcement of the making of a Fatal Frame film in Hollywood still dates back to 2003 and, in the meantime, another live action film, taken from the same franchise of KOEI Tecmo, has also landed in the cinemas of the Rising Sun. (which at the time was only known as Tecmo).

The only thing we know for sure is that the new feature will be set in Japan, while fans of the franchise are waiting for the release, next October 28, on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series. X | S and PC, of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water (a remastered version of the 2014 Wii U game).
