Splinter Cell Remake early arts

Splinter Cell Remake is, without a doubt, one of those redesigns that fill the community with enthusiasm who played the originals at the time. And it is that despite the fact that it was announced at the end of last year, the truth is that there were already rumors previously and, above all, a historical demand for this new edition by its followers for many years. And it is understandable, of course, because it was not only a success at the time, it is still a well-remembered title so many years later.

Since the announcement of Splinter Cell Remake no further information has been released on this. You will surely remember that at that time a video was published with the announcement, but that it did not contain a single image of the remake. And it is that as it became clear then, it was still in a very initial phase, which already invited us to think in the long term, but it is true that in what has been almost a year, Ubisoft could have made some progress or, at least, confirm if there has been any progress in its development.

But hey, better late than never and, in a meeting organized by the French developer on the occasion of the twenty years since the launch of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, which hit the market on this day but in 2002, has finally shown the first concept images of Splinter Cell Remake which, although they do not show us exactly how the game will look on the screen, they do illustrate the design lines on which the designers and developers are basing themselves to carry out this remake.

Based on the creative universe of Tom Clancy (who died in 2013), there are several franchises that have managed to gain public recognition. Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six stand out for being prolific, but also the most recent The Division. However, in this entire ecosystem, Splinter Cell had been relegated to oblivion, as no title of it has been published since 2013, the year in which his last game to date, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist, was released. Now it seems that with the release of Splinter Cell Remake, Ubisoft intends to pick up the franchise, with new titles in the future.

As I said before, not much is known about the Splinter Cell Remake, except that is being developed with Snowdrop, the same engine used by the French developer for another of its most anticipated titles, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. We will probably still have to wait quite a while, therefore, before we put ourselves back at the controls of Sam Fisher, as we began to do twenty years ago today.
