The +50 Emprende awards recognize gastronomic innovation and tourism in rural Spain

The IV +50 Emprende Awards recognized, at the Endesa headquarters in Madrid, in its fourth edition, the senior talent in an event promoted by the Savia Generation, the Endesa Foundation and the máshumano Foundation, with the collaboration of the production company 02:59 Films.

Throughout the morning, the ten finalists of this edition presented their projects and business ideas to the jury made up of professionals and renowned experts in the field of entrepreneurship.

Present at the event were Leopoldo Abadía, president of the jury for the +50 Emprende Awards, accompanied by Ignacio Jiménez, general director of communication for Endesa, Beatriz Sánchez, general director of Fundación máshumano, and Carlos Sanz, founding partner of the production company 02:59 Films, who have delivered the awards. For his part, Javier Blanco, general director of the Endesa Foundation, has awarded the two special mentions to non-profit projects that support social groups.

Since the creation of these awards in 2019, the number of registrations has been growing. In total, there have been 846 projects and nearly 1,500 senior entrepreneurs have participated in the four editions (2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022) of these awards. Specifically, in this fourth call, a total of 281 entrepreneurs have presented themselves, with an average age of 54 years, who have registered 107 initiatives.

Three awarded projects

The winning project of the IV Edition of the +50 Emprende Awards has been I am Quality, led by Ana Cabezas (59 years old, Valladolid). 10 years ago this entrepreneur emigrated to Peru and realized the need to implement the automation of ISO standards. From here, she created this company to help digitize quality regulations and improve organizational efficiency.

“Sometimes life is more than what you dream of. I want to convey a message of perseverance. If the years teach us anything, it is that life is a roller coaster, that there are good and bad moments, but it is important to keep going and look to the future with perspective.”shared Ana Cabezas in her words of thanks.

The second prize went to Quiet Sauces, led by Julio Estalella (55 years old, Seville). Former director of a multinational in the infrastructure sector and after a radical turn in his professional career, he created this project with the aim of offering a new hot sauce option, made with Mediterranean products that add flavor and enhance our recipes thanks to the vinegar and oloroso wine from Jerez.

Finally, the third prize has gone to Singular Spain, led by María Pérez (52 years old, Madrid). His business idea is a travel agency specializing in promote rural tourism through immersion routes through the most unknown Spain, with the aim of making local products and the territory known. It also seeks to bring closer the cultural and natural heritage that is far from conventional roads.
