the competitor found everything to Samsung’s Galay Z Fold 3?

Oppo has just launched the Find N, the brand’s very first folding phone, this December.

The world of mobile telephony has not seen such a revolution since the arrival of touch on the first devices. While the general public began to tire of smartphones with standardized shapes, Samsung is throwing a stone (a mountain) in the pool of manufacturers.

Expected for years, the first folding smartphones are finally here. With the Fold, then later the Flip, the historic Korean manufacturer is relaunching a forgotten market, that of folding phones. Since then, the fate of all brands seems to be tracing and rumors are rife about folding phones among everyone.

One day we are talking about a folding iPhone for 2023, the next day it is Xiaomi – the rising brand – which is expected at the turn. Then in this din of partially true information, Oppo decided to be crisp and clear. The Chinese manufacturer formalized last December the arrival of the Oppo Find N: the brand’s first folding phone.

Oppo: the third musketeer of folding smartphones

Today, the folding phone market is still in its infancy, and the daring choice of Oppo while much of the public is still reluctant to buy such a phone, could still pay off. Indeed, with the Z Fold 3 and the Microsoft Duo 2 as main competitors, the all new Oppo Find N should easily find its place and find a first clientele of new technology enthusiasts.

Announced at the last edition of INNO Day, the Find N is a serious competitor to Samsung’s product. With its 7.1-inch (unfolded) and 5.49-inch folded screen (compared to over 6 at Samsung), the phone seems a bit smaller. When it comes to thickness, the two devices are equal. With a thickness of 17 mm, the Chinese model necessarily imposes in a pocket, but it is not very different from the 16 mm of the latest Samsung. Status quo therefore on this point.

A more than correct technical sheet

When it comes to the rest of the phone, the crease looks better concealed on Oppo’s phone. The latter has indeed an ultra thin layer of glass of 0.03 mm. For the screen, the Chinese manufacturer has chosen a 7.1-inch AMOLED E5 with a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Coup de force on this point from Oppo, the brand manages to lower this rate to a single Hertz in cases of total inactivity.

Last important point with regard to this phone, the camera. If Oppo has not decided to devote revolutionary objectives to its phone, the novelty not being here, the Chinese firm has nevertheless taken high quality products. The phone therefore has a wide angle of 50 megapixels, an ultra wide-angle of 16 megapixels and a telephoto lens of 13 megapixels.

The most attentive will have noted the resemblance to the Find X3 Pro in the inlay of the photo block on the back of the phone. The latter is starting to emerge as the trademark of the Chinese manufacturer.

The Oppo Find N is only available today in China at a price of 7,699 yuan, which is just over € 1,000.
