the shooting of season 5 is already completed!

It’s Christmas before its hour for Cobra Kai fans. On Twitter, the creator of the series announces that the shooting of season 5 has already been completed, just a few days before the broadcast of season 4 on Netflix.

This year, on the evening of the 31st, the kimono will be required. After a year of absence, the heroes of the series Cobra Kai prepare for “Kicker” the new year with the new season of their adventures. A fourth round of particularly awaited episodes since it promises to bring back characters from the cinematographic saga Karate kid. A clash of anthology therefore, between Johnny Lawrence and his former mentor.

To help him defeat Kreese, the character played by William Zabka can count on his former enemy Daniel LaRusso. They will have to join forces to hope to win the All Valley Tournament. But for his part, Kreese also appealed to an old acquaintance. Terry Silver, antagonist of Karate Kid III will also be there. It is again camped by Thomas Ian Griffith.

Season 5 already in the box

As we count the days between us and New Year’s Eve, Jon Horwitz has good news. On Twitter, he just announced that the shooting of season 5 was already finished. Launched a few months ago in Atlanta, the production is therefore finished and we must now go behind the editing benches to bring this burst of episodes to life. We can therefore expect to find all the fine team as early as December 2022, unless Netflix decides to speed things up.

The last season?

This fifth season should not be the last, however. If the caption the image shared by Hurwitz indicates the word “end”, Josh Heald told Screen Rant have many plans for the continuation of the adventures of Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso.

“We still have stuff after season 5. We don’t write the end of the series with season 5. We can’t believe we’ve filmed two seasons this year. It’s crazy to believe how far ahead of the story we are compared to what audiences have seen so far. Season 5 is another huge season with a lot of new flavors and a lot of stuff you haven’t seen yet. And this is not the end ”.

Given the popularity of the series on Netflix, we can hope that it will be offered a sixth and even a seventh season. It will also be the occasion for the creators to appeal to certain “alumni” of Karate kid, like Hilary Swank who had played Julie Pierce in Karate Kid IV. Nothing has yet been confirmed.
