The startup investment group, Antai Venture Builder, closes a round of 11.8 million euros

Antai Venture Builder has managed to close a new financing round in which Banco Sabadell and Mutua Madrileña have participated. Resources, specifically 11.8 million euros, will be destined to the impulse during four years of 12 European and Latin American technology companies.

The group has focused on the creation of startups in the sectors specialized in fintech, edtech, insurtech, climatetech, health tech and mass consumption, as well as marketplaces, SaaS and digital native brands.

Since its inception in 2012, Antai VB has launched more than 25 startups valued at two billion euros, which have created more than 1,500 jobs. To do this, the group has the support of more than 350 investors, including 150 venture capital funds from around the world.

During this time, Antai VB has generated an ecosystem in which talent is key when launching new business models with the best teams of entrepreneurs and strategic partners. In this sense, the group has developed new projects in the fintech and insurtech field with the support of Banco Sabadell and Mutua Madrileña, taking advantage of the knowledge and experience of both entities in their respective areas.

The collaboration to date has been highly successful and since 2018 seven companies have already been launched in these spaces, with success stories such as Elma, GoCleer or SingularCover. In the opinion of Miguel Vicente, co-founder of Antai VB, “We are sure that as we create more companies and accumulate more success stories, the greater our ability to attract talent.”

For his part, Gerard Olivé, co-founder of Antai VB, assures that “We have always believed that talent is magnetic, good entrepreneurs attract each other and in turn attract the best teams. Success stories

Antai VB accumulates a portfolio of consolidated companies such as Wallapop, Glovo (Justbell), Deliberry, SingularCover, Carnovo, GoTrendier, Elma, or Nemuru. In addition, since 2018, the firm has created five startups in the marketplace areas, SaaS and digital native brands among which Lifecole, Valy, Conkau and Mascoteros stand out. The firm has focused on strategic sectors such as education and health in which it already has previous experience.

Another of Antai VB’s projects has been Marmota, a project created from the joint venture with the Atresmedia group. The startup was recently acquired by the Flex group with the aim of accelerating its digitization, reaching a younger audience and addressing the consumer challenges caused by Covid-19.

Latin American market

In parallel, Antai VB also consolidates its presence in Latin America with the opening of an office in Mexico City to take advantage of the opportunity that Covid-19 has provided to accelerate the digitization of businesses. The group is already known in the Latin American market with startups such as GoTrendier and BePretty, in addition to promoting the internationalization of Spanish companies in the area, such as Shopery or Carnovo.
