Windows is an operating system that is distributed “as is,” giving users limited ability to configure it, but not being able to remove many of the programs, or disable features, that are part of the system. And, although this is not allowed by Microsoft’s terms of use, there are user groups that create programs so that users can easily make all the modifications that Microsoft does not allow, or they go further and launch directly modified versions of Windows that remove and disable all kinds of features, as is the case with AtlasOS.
Atlas It is a modified version of Windows 10 that removes all the functions and features of the operating system that can cause a negative impact on the games. In this way, it is possible to get more FPS in games, reduce latency, input lag and create a private ecosystem while prioritizing performance.
According to the developers of this modified system, Atlas OS is capable of reducing Windows processes from 145 to just 35, going from using 2.3 GB of RAM in its original version to just 900MB memory in this version, and with an FPS gain of 1%.
To do this, it has a personalized power plan, disables services that are unnecessary for most users, and optimizes all system settings in order to achieve its goal: to create a light and fast Windows Lite that, unlike the usual As with other systems, this one does not endanger our security or break the system.

A legal and secure Windows? The SoftZone recommendation
We at SoftZone never recommend using these modified versions of Windows. We have already seen other similar systems, such as MiniOS, that make changes by force, without knowing what they are doing, and in such a hidden and opaque process that, surely, they include security gaps, and malware, to endanger users .
The Altas modification process is somewhat different. Contrary to what happens with the other modified versions of Windows, this project is OpenSource, which allows us to know exactly what is done in the system, replicate it ourselves, and even help in its development. Atlas doesn’t come as a modified Windows ISO (which does violate Microsoft’s terms of service), but it is a modification that is made on a genuine, clean and freshly installed Windows 10. From our point of view, the bad is the least bad. If you have an old computer and you want it to work better with Windows 10, it may be an option to gain some performance. But, of course, it is not a system that we would use every day, neither for work nor for play. Let alone handle personal data in it.
