Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase 2022: Starfield, Forza Motorsport and a lot of Game Pass

Since its acquisition almost two years ago, Xbox and Bethesda have been sharing all their big events of game announcements, so of course the Summer Game Fest 2022 was not going to be otherwise. A joint deployment that led us yesterday for a total of an hour and a half of announcements, among which some of the company’s most anticipated upcoming releases have been presented such as Starfield or the new Forza Motorsportin addition to a huge assortment of titles from their already well-known franchises, some new IPs, and many games from indie developers.

On the other hand, another of the great protagonists of the night was the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, with a large number of announced titles that will be available on the platform from day one of its launchincluding the highly anticipated sequel to Hollow Knight Silksongwhich has finally been seen again.

So, here we leave you with a small summary with the most outstanding titles of the conference and its corresponding trailers and previews:

Starfield

Undoubtedly the great protagonist of the night was the long-awaited sci-fi action-adventure exploration game developed by Bethesda, which has been one of the most desired games since its first announcement back in 2018. Although the wait will be more than rewarded. And it is that in addition to a graphic section that left us breathlessyesterday’s video delved not only into the general gameplay, but also offered us new details about some of the features that this game will include, with a large customization component.

Starting with the latter, in addition to being able to create a character completely to our liking, with one of the most complete systems available to date, one of Starfield’s strong points comes with its ship construction and customization system, with which we can configure our space vehicles in form and functionalities. Although we can also customize many other aspects such as our weapons and tools, for which we can create new accessories from our own colonies, also customized by us, on each of the planets we visit.

And it is that the very universe that the game offers us will not be far behind, with the promise of more than a hundred systems and more than a thousand planets that we can freely explore at our whim, each one of them with a very diverse fauna and resources that we can research, record and collect. Although not everything will be unexplored planets, since we will also have some large cities and meeting points where we can trade, join the different factions of this universe, and of course advance in the main plot.

Unfortunately, according to the latest rumors, finally the release date of this game will be delayed again, moving to the first half of 2023.

Forza Motorsport

With a game style without many changes, maintaining the essence of this arcade driving simulator, the great novelty of this title is that for the first time in the saga, we will have dynamic and ray tracing adjustments for effects and light during the races, in addition to some scenarios and vegetation that according to the company itself are “the most careful designed to date”, thus promising us the most realistic experience ever in a Forza game till the date.

On the other hand, it highlights the fact that Microsoft has anticipated that Forza Motorsport will be one of the titles to be available from day one on Xbox Game Pass with its launch in 2023.

redfall

One of Bethesda’s main bets is focused on this cooperative FPS in which a group of four young people must go through the city fighting the fearsome hordes of vampires, cultists and other enemies to survive at the end of days. Although they won’t be helpless at all, as in addition to a large arsenal of firearms, each of the characters will have their own special abilities.

Initially dated as one of the company’s key releases for this year, finally the game has been delayed until 2023coming as part of the Xbox Game Pass game offer available from day one.

Minecraft Legends

Another of the great surprises of the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase was undoubtedly the presence of Mojang, who surprised us with a brand new IP for minecraftwith an action and adventure game that, although it maintains the same premise of exploring biomes, extracting resources and building forts, will face us with a greater challenge in which we will have to balance our skill and strategy.

And it is that although the action of the original title has a somewhat more measured rhythm, in this new installment it will be one of the main components, with a somewhat more frenetic and epic touch that will confront us with the growing threat of the piglins, who are looking for corrupt the underworld of the Nether and take over the entire world.

scorn

Announced for the first time in 2016, followed by a kickstarter project, and finally the annexation with Xbox Studios, little by little we have seen this Dantesque project grow that will take us through passages worthy of the most bizarre hell, to offer us action and anguish in equal parts.

A Plague Tale – Requiem

Previously announced, Asobo Studios offers us a new look at the sequel to this dark medieval fantasy title, in which we will again accompany the brothers Amicia and Hugo de Rune in a new crusade across the sea. So we will once again have an immersive and deep story, along with a game style that will combine stealth and puzzle mechanics, along with some moments of somewhat more direct action.

Hollow Knight Silksong

On a personal note, one of the best announcements so far from Summer Game Fest, finally the latest rumors have become reality, with a new trailer and gameplay of the long-awaited sequel to metroidvania developed by Team Cherry. In this video we have been able to see some new scenarios, enemies and bosses, and some of Hornet’s special combat and movement mechanics, anticipating an experience with a much more platformer touch.

Thus, although direct mention of its date has once again been avoided, as part of this Xbox and Bethesda event, we can frame the premiere of Silksong within the next 12 months, with the great news of its inclusion since day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Devil IV

After the huge stir caused by the release of Diablo Immortal, it seems that Blizzard is preparing to redeem itself with the arrival of Diablo IV. And it is that the company has surprised us with not one, but two trailers of his gamewith the confirmation of the presence of the Necromancer as one of the available classes, as well as a new review of the gameplay of this new installment, which will include some new features such as the presence of an open world or the ability to customize our characters for the first time in this saga, in addition to a cross-play experience for all platforms.

Overwatch 2

On the other hand, Blizzar also took advantage of this conference to offer a new trailer for another of its next big (although again somewhat controversial) deliveries, which has already confirmed its official release date for October 4, under a free model and always active, and an upgrade from its predecessor in terms of all-new heroes, maps, tech, and a host of other content.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

From the hand of Koei Temo and Team Ninja, comes this new action and dark fantasy game, in which we will accompany a soldier from a nameless militia who will fight to survive this dystopian era of the Han dynasty in which the demons are They have taken control of the Three Kingdoms.

High On Life

Despite its somewhat more childish appearance, with colorful alien enemies and an assortment of weapons with funny faces, it is by no means a game for children. And it is that in this adventure of adult humor, we will have to face the threatened cartel that wants to use them as drugs, with a shooter full of action and blood (although not always red).

Person

Finally, we could not fail to highlight the return of one of the most popular sagas, which on the occasion of its 25th anniversary, will partner with Xbox to offer us access to Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal directly on Xbox Game Pass (thus confirming its compatibility with both consoles and PC), the latter title being the first to arrive, already dated for October 21.

And much more…

Although that’s not all, Microsoft’s big surprise was that all the games announced during this Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase will be available to play in a framework within the next 12 monthsincluding more than 25 titles for the remainder of this year alone.

Upcoming Releases Xbox Games 2022 and 2023

But again this will still not be everything that awaits us from the technological giant. And it is that the company already advanced that tomorrow June 14the Xbox Games Showcase 2022 Extended will take place, a second event that will present even more trailers of new games, as well as an expanded look at the titles already shown during the main program, in addition to interview sessions with developers from the numerous studios from Xbox Games Studios, including Bethesda.
