BIND 4.0 wins several contracts with companies to 28 startups

BIND 4.0, the smart industry open innovation platform, has selected 28 startups to develop a total of 33 industry 4.0 projects in the sixth edition of the program, which begins today. This year, the main disruptive technologies that the startups and the leading companies of BIND 4.0 will apply together to create their innovative solutions will be: IoT, Big Data and AI, followed by robotics, virtual and augmented reality and nanotechnology, among other. These projects will be developed in the areas of smart industry, clean and sustainable energy, food and health.

Many of them are aimed at performing quality controls through artificial vision, facilitating interaction between people and machines through language processing, clean energy storage, digitization of medical devices, the creation of a digital twin for improve efficiency and production times or smart mobility capable of reducing the environmental impact and create new vehicles, among others. Projects that are born with the aim of applying new technologies to move towards a more intelligent, efficient and sustainable industry in the future.

Regarding the origin of the startups selected to participate in this sixth edition, it should be noted that 43% have their origin in Euskadi, seven from Vizcaya and five from Guipúzcoa. Of the rest of those selected, a total of nine companies are from the rest of Spain and seven come from different countries of the world.

The technologies of the XI edition

In this sixth edition, 67% of the selected startups will apply artificial intelligence, Big Data or Internet of Things technologies in the different areas of the program, with the aim of creating new innovative solutions that improve the competitiveness of companies in the industry. 33% of them are specialized in other types of disruptive technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality, collaborative robotics (both are the 4th and 5th most demanded technology by partners), followed by nanotechnology, cybersecurity, e -mobility and applied technologies for waste management.

On the other hand, the startups that participate in the 6th edition of BIND 4.0 have innovative technologies that they apply in 64% to the smart industry sector, 39% to clean and sustainable energy, 39% to the health sector and 25% to food. And in some cases, startup technologies can be applied in more than one sector. In this way, it will be the leading companies of BIND 4.0 that will develop open innovation projects in collaboration with startups, in the 24 weeks of the BIND 4.0 program.

During the celebration of the program, BIND 4.0 organizes different activities for the participating startups and this sixth edition It has many new features. Various will be made workshops throughout the programme, from February to June, as well as networking activities with the main agents in the sector and training sessions with BIND 4.0 partners. The startups will attend different entrepreneurship events, such as Cita Emprende and 4FYN; and of the industry such as the International Machine Tool Biennial (BIEMH). Activities organized with the aim of facilitating the immersion of startups in the industrial fabric of the Basque Country, one of those with the greatest projection in Europe.

Another of the great claims of this initiative is that startups will be guided by 40 expert mentors in business acceleration, market strategies for new technologies, innovation and entrepreneurship. And that they have different investment opportunities, thanks to the fact that the program has a Venture Club, an investor club, aligned with the specialization of the accelerator.
