The Catit PIXI Smart Feeder is the latest addition to the PIXI line, specialized in smart products, within the Catit brand. Previously we had the opportunity to analyze the Catit PIXI Smart Fountain, which made a very good impression on us after testing it in depth.
It is, as its name suggests, a smart feeder designed to dispense the exact amount of feed for cats. Both the power plan and the schedules are perfectly customizable from the app, the same one that we downloaded previously to manage the source, and that unifies and makes the management of both devices much easier.
The Catit PIXI Smart Feeder comes, once again, to make our lives a little easier, especially if we spend enough time away from home. Now the target of the meows demanding food will not be us, but this cat-shaped feeder. We feel a little relief, we are not going to fool ourselves.

The first impression caused by the Catit Pixi Smart Feeder is that we are clearly facing a device in the same line as the source that we have already seen. At Catit they have known how to take perfect care of the design so that both devices fit perfectly. We continue with the aesthetic based on the face and ears of a cat (specifically in Pixi, the Catit office cat) that has been so successful, since it combines a minimalist but adorable design.
We will start by talking about the deposit. we have one 1.2kg capacity, which will be enough to forget about filling the tank for a few weeks (time that will vary depending on what your cat eats). The ring that closes the tank is airtight, which keeps the feed fresh and crisp for longer, it also includes a dehumidifying pad on the lid to prevent mold (changed every 30 days).
The Catit Pixi Smart Feeder tank can be filled with standard feed croquettes (between 7 and 9 mm in diameter) and has a silent motor with a system that prevents food jams (it detects if a grain of feed has been obstructed and turns in the opposite direction). However, if an obstruction occurs, the Catit PIXI application will notify us.
The eating plate is removable, and it is made of stainless steel dishwasher safe While it is being washed we can use the support as a side dish. In addition, the bowl is ergonomic to prevent the cat’s whiskers from rubbing against the edges.
The base has two LED status lights, a white one for WIFI and a red one that will notify us when the food level is low. In addition to this red led, the app will send us a notification so that we can refill the tank when it is below 10% of its capacity.

In addition to helping us with anxiety problems with food that our cat may have, the Catit Pixi Smart Feeder will allow us to distribute its food in as many feedings as possible. We can divide the meal plan into up to 12 servings a day, regulating the amount of each shot in one or more portions (each approximately 5 grams). Thus, knowing the amount of food that your cat should eat per day and how many portions you want to give it, you will be able to establish the feeding plan that best suits it. Although I already tell you that unless you live in a two-story house, it will not be necessary.
It should be noted that these notifications can only be silenced if you disable app notifications from the phone settings. The negative point is that you would stop receiving all of them, even those warning of low food level or possible obstruction of the motor.
In addition to this programming, from the application (and even from the feeder itself, by pressing the button on the nose) we can dispense food. At Catit they are visionaries and, of course, this button can be deactivated, in case our cat gets too smart and learns to press it.
A very important detail that should be noted is that, in case you are worried that the feeder may stop working if the power goes out, It has booster batteries on the back, which would last about 58 hours in the event of a power outage.
More options with the PIXI app
The Catit Pixi Smart Feeder works with our well-known Pixi mobile application, which gives us the possibility to interact with the feeder at any time, whether we are at home or anywhere else. Once installed and synced with the device (on a 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi network, it does not work with 5 Ghz or 5G), with the application you can access all these functions:
- Dispense food. Instantly dispense one or multiple servings of food into the bowl.
- Schedule meals. Program the times that the cat will eat in a 7-day cycle. Allows you to program up to 12 meals a day.
- Customize the size of the portions. Adjust the amount of feed that the feeder will dispense for each meal.
- Jam or full alerts. Receive a notification when the food level is below 10% of the total capacity or in case the feeder is clogged.
