The origin of the CTO Summit congress dates back to 2019, when the edtech GeeksHubs foresaw that the technological talent of management positions should be a primary concern in companies and a forum was necessary where the figure of the CTO, VP of Engineering and their IT teams could form and establish new professional relationships.
The trajectory of the event positions it as a relevant forum for meet other technology leaders and build alliances. Chaume Sánchez, CEO of GeeksHubs and the organization of the CTO Summit explains that “it is a unique congress due to the level of the presentations, but also for networking and talk face to face with people who understand your day-to-day problems and offer you ideas and challenges”.
The congress, which in 2022 managed to bring together almost 500 technology managersyes, address the technological challenges of the sector. And it works three lines of action: innovative technology and for social good, talent management in IT teams and business approaches for CTOs.
For example, Miguel Ángel Querol from Topcon Mirage Technologies will discuss how digital twins make it possible to predict the performance of a product; Sage’s Beat Goetschi on driving change as a technology leader; o Ezequiel Cura de Capchase the theory of technological leadership circles.
In 2023, when the fourth edition of the congress will take place on May 26 and 27, there will be more than twenty presentations with professionals from Spain and other parts of the world such as Sue Li, CTO at SwipeGuide; Marta Rivera, Data & Analytics at Inditex; Rolando Angelini, Director of Engineering at Factorial; Jose Manuel de la Chica, CTO at Santander Universities and at Universia Holding; o Inés Huertas, Data and Artificial Intelligence in Kairós DS.
One of the objectives of the congress is give visibility to the role of technology directors of companies, so this year the congress incorporates the gala of the GeeksHubs Award for Best CTO 2023. With this award, the figure of this professional is recognized and the references in STEM professions (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) are made visible. The company can vote for its reference CTO among the 16 finalists Until the 4th of may from the congress website.
