For a long time we have been seeing numerous rumors and small leaks about the possible first oppo folding phone, presented under the code name “Peacock”. However, according to the popular Chinese informant Digital Chat Station on Weibo, it appears that the Chinese company’s foldable It could officially arrive under the name of Oppo Find N 5G.
So far, oppo has tried to keep a low profile with its next foldable phone, apparently to try and deliver a bigger surprise for the official launch event. However, as is customary in this sector, despite the company’s great efforts, the informants seem to have managed to get some of the key points about the folding phone.
According to the new rumors, it seems that finally the first folding phone of oppo will opt for an inward fold system, similar to the one presented by the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3.
Thus, although the orientation or number of folds of the same has not been specified, previously we saw some unofficial renders from LetsGoDigital that pointed to a shell type model. And it could be that oppo is preparing two different folding phones, with an oppo X in book format, and this oppo Find N.
Moving on to the specifications, the oppo Find N will feature a 7.8-8 inch OLED LTPO display panel, with resolutions up to 2K and a screen refresh rate of 120 Hz. The vast majority of its internal components are unknown with the sole exception of its battery. 4,500 mAh with support for fast charging yet to be determined (with doubts between the 65W and 125W systems), the only certainty is that this folding phone will work on the latest version of the operating system Color OS 12 based on Android 12.
Although as reported from BGR, it seems that the Oppo Find N 5G could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor paired with an Adreno 660 GPU. However, with a release date still undetermined, and the new generation of Snapdragon 8 processors around the corner, we could still see some updates.
On the other hand, the latest rumors have also shed some more light when it comes to their cameras. And is that although unfortunately we still do not know its true distribution, the latest reports assure that it will equip a main lens based on the 50 megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor, adding to the previous rumors that we were ahead of at least one additional camera in the front, with a 32 megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.
