A glitch in a large corporate messenger, Slack, used by a huge number of companies for convenient interaction and remote work, has once again ruined many. Work shifts. Going into more detail, Slack is reporting that the platform experienced a partial outage, which in turn affected many users around 9:30 AM ET. Simply put, Slack, namely various chats that are important for work and interaction with colleagues, simply “did not load” for many.
It is precisely because of this problem that many employees of various companies, for example, missed summer holidays and various meetings, because of which, as a result, employees made various mistakes. But this is not surprising – without normal communication and timely receipt of data on the adjustment of some aspects of the activity through communication in Slack, it was impossible to be ready for anything. But it is also important to note that not everyone faced these problems. While some users were able to continue using the platform as usual, others were simply “blocked”.

And as part of its forthcoming announcement, the platform said that Slack is actively “investigating” the issue and working on a “complete solution” to it. And if you don’t know, Slack has had several outages over the past two years, which have just as adversely affected work activities. They were generally short-lived, and in at least one case were caused by Amazon Web Services failing rather than by Slack itself.
Nevertheless, in any case, all these failures cannot be called some kind of “minor”. Especially now, when virtual work plays a much more important role for the whole world than ever before. In any case, the problem has already been fixed. This event once again made companies understand how important it is to have an additional, backup communication channel in order to maintain healthy communication with employees even in such situations.
