The elDAS regulation, just around the corner

As we talked about some time ago, the elDAS regulation emerged in 2014 with the main objective of facilitate different electronic transactions between people, companies and public administrations. This was intended to create a usual legal framework for digital identification means or trust services in the European Union. This is something that had been achieved to date, but a new proposal has emerged, as indicated by w3volution.

At present, the original DAS would be insufficient in terms of the implementation of a new European electronic identity system. It is for this reason that the creation of the new regulation called elDAS2 is launched. With which it is intended to create a regulatory framework that is safe, useful and of course efficient for the EU.

The new regulation called the DAS2, will enter into force in 2023, for all the countries that make up the European Union. It is worth mentioning that this modification could change the way in which electronic documentation is conceived. This measure has been worked on since June, and its objective is to ensure that all European citizens acquire a digital identity.
