The new MacBook Pro 13 will have an 8-core CPU

A leak has left us with new details about the new generation MacBook Pro 13, an ultraportable that will keep the base design that we saw in the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, which means that it will come with the notch in the screen. At the hardware level, this equipment It will mean a notable renovation compared to the current modelalthough lower than expected in some respects.

As we can see in the attached image, which summarizes all the new information we have about the MacBook Pro 13 2022, this device will come with an Apple M2 SoC, the successor to the Apple M1. An increase in the maximum core count was expected, but in the end this leak suggests that said chip It will come with an 8-core CPU, the same amount that integrates the Apple M1. However, it is not clear if these will also be divided into 4 high-performance cores and 4 high-efficiency cores, or if on the contrary they will be divided into 6 high-performance cores and 2 high-efficiency cores.

This differentiation of cores can be key when evaluating the final performance of the equipment, since having two more high-performance cores would result in a substantial improvement in power in multithreaded tasks. Obviously, the Apple M2 SoC will use a new architecture, and therefore its IPC should be higher than that of the Apple M1 SoC. However, we will have to wait to see performance tests to discover how far that performance improvement goes.

For the rest, the new MacBook Pro 13 will have configurations of up to 32 GB of RAM, up to 2 TB of storage, it will come with a 13.3-inch Liquid Retina XDR screen, it will have a 1080p front camera, it will have Touch ID and it will offer a range of up to 22 hours per battery charge. Its weight will be 1.4 kilograms, and it will cost 1,499 dollars. We do not have details about the possible sale price of the MacBook Pro 13 in Spain, but should be around 1,500 euros.
