Cowboy Bebop: The Netflix series will expand with novels and comics

After revealing the first images of his live action series from the anime of Cowboy Bebop, Netflix also revealed the arrival of one comic miniseries and some novels from the show.

Comics and novels based on the Netflix series of Cowboy Bebop are coming

The Californian streaming company together with the publisher Titan Publishing have in fact announced an agreement to create a series of volumes related to the series, most of which will be released by the end of the year.

The paper franchise will be kicked off Cowboy Bebop: A Syndicate Story – Red Planet Requiem, a prequel novel written by live action series writer Sean Cummings, which will follow the story of a young Spike Spiegel (played by John Cho on the show) and Vicious (Alex Hassell) as they explore the galaxy (before they became mortal rivals ).

In December, a four-issue comic series will arrive on Cowboy Bebop, by Lucifer And Dan Watters from Home Sick Pilots. The drawings of Lamar Mathurin and the covers of Stanley “Artgerm” Lau they will bring us back to the present, with the crew chasing a former gang member in possession of an intriguing artifact: a vest that gives the wearer unlimited fortune.

To complete the releases, at the beginning of 2022 we will find Cowboy Bebop: Making the Netflix Series by Jeff Bond, a hardcover book that will collect both concept art and production photographs from the series; to reveal how the show was made and the ways it transported the original anime into the live action universe.

Cowboy Bebop: A Syndicate Story – Red Planet Requiem will hit the stars and stripes on November 23, while Cowboy Bebop # 1 will hit shelves “somewhere” in December. Cowboy Bebop: Making the Netflix Series will be released on January 11, 2022 while, of course, the same Netflix series will arrive on the video on demand platform on November 19.
