Taika Waititi’s Flash Gordon film goes live action

Waititi is currently trying to write the film, which he could (but isn’t sure) direct if all things go as they should. What seems certain is that the film will no longer be animated; at least according to the manufacturer’s words John Davis.

Interviewed by Collider, Davis explained that “Taika is writing it. It was a film that had a huge influence on his growth. It is one of his favorite films. Initially he said to me: “Let’s make this animated” and I said ‘Okay’ “.

Now, however, everything seems to have changed.

“(Taika) has the most fantastically interesting view of this film. And you can know it’s a Taika thing. That’s what it does. It’s the way he looks at the world. He is the biggest boy in the world. He’s the funniest guy in the world. And think on a different level. And this film embraces everything that is special about Taika and her vision. It refers in a very interesting way to the original conception of comics ”.
