The Quintessential Quintuplets – The Movie, the anime film based on the manga written and illustrated by Negi Haruba it is shown with a first teaser trailer that reveals the release date.

The short promotional video, released online by the official website of the feature film, was accompanied by the publication of a new key visual.

The film will debut in Japan on May 20, 2022, will run for 130 minutes and will be a direct sequel to the second season of the anime series, also based on the Haruba manga.

The Quintessential Quintuplets currently includes a twelve-episode first season produced by the studios Tezuka Productions and aired in January 2019, followed by The Quintessential Quintuplets 2, also of twelve episodes, at the end of which a “third season” was announced, without however specifying the format, narrative arc which, therefore, will be adapted by movie.

In Italy the anime is available on Crunchyroll while the manga by Negi Haruba, in our country, is published by J-POP Manga.

What is The Quintessential Quintuplets about?

Futaru Uesugi is a high school student with a brilliant school career but who, unfortunately, leads a difficult life due to the economic conditions of his family. His father’s debt situation and his shyness and suspicion have left him without friends.

One day, during the lunch break, Futaru has an argument with a girl that causes the two to dislike each other but, that same day, the boy is faced with a more unique than rare opportunity to revive his economic / financial fortunes. and his family. He is in fact offered to tutor the daughter of a wealthy family, a job for which he is offered five times the normal salary.

The boy accepts the proposal but finds himself having to deal with a couple of unexpected events that he would never have imagined: he will have to give repetitions to Itsuki Nakano, the girl with whom he has recently quarreled and, if that were not enough, Futaru discovers that he it’s just the first of five beautiful twin sisters.

It is a quintet of reckless girls who, despite the danger of a rejection, have no intention of getting help from the young tutor.

Futaru would like to abandon and return the job offer to the sender, but the concrete possibility of solving his family’s problems pushes the boy to set himself an ambitious and difficult goal: to convince the five sisters to study seriously and bring them successfully towards the diploma.

The manga launched in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in August 2017, and Haruba ended the series in February 2020.
